South Asia, Southeast Asia, Oceania Project in Google Classroom

South Asia, Southeast Asia, Oceania Project

Alrighty everyone, time for your final project of the year! Last class, you picked out what country you would like to further dive into. You will research your country more in depth in order to learn more about that part of the world.

You will be filling out a profile sheet on your country (things like location, population, history) before designing a slideshow to present to the class. You will be given the profile sheet and a template will be provided for you in this post. To help you out, the links to CIA World Factbook and World Book Online (username: nhbook, password: barn) will also be attached for you below. Please feel free to use other websites, just not Wikipedia!

You will have 2 in class periods to work on the project. After the second day, you may work on it during study hall or at home.

This project will be worth 50 points.

The due dates are as follows:

-A Day: Slideshows due June 2, Presentations June 3
-B Day: Slideshows due June 3, Presentations June 4

I'm looking forward to seeing what you all come up with!

Due:

South Asia Infographic in Google Classroom

South Asia Infographic

Today, you will be working an infographic slideshow where you will look into 3 issues that South Asia is dealing with.

First, you will watch the two videos; they are about climate change in Bangladesh and overpopulation in India.

After you watch the videos, you will then look up 3 issues in South Asia. You can research the region as a whole or do it by country (i.e. a problem in the Maldives, a problem in Nepal, a problem in Bhutan). In your slides, you will need to name the problem (i.e. climate change, hunger), explain the problem/what's happening and explain how the issue connects to an SDG. Be sure to include pictures, data/statistics/charts and add color to your slides.

You will see two slideshows attached below. The first will be the directions and a sample for you to look at. The second will be the template you will use to complete your slides with the issues you choose.

This assignment will be individual and graded.
