Science

Welcome to my web page.  My science classroom is devoted to those who wonder, those who think, those who like to explore, design, build and create.  Science isn't everything, but everything is science. 

 

In my classroom we use science as a lens to view the world.  Through this lens we are able to observe systems and structures that exist in our nature.  Students study within the fields of the Life, Physical and Earth Sciences.  Each field presents content to study and problems to solve.  A typical unit of study will begin with participation in discussion and questioning to arouse some curiosity for a specific topic.  Once this is established students will be lead to some form of hands on discovery activity in order to get them to interact with the subject usually through group work and collaboration. 

 

We model our inventions and creations after what we learn from wearing this lens.  This lens enables us to study the intricate designs that only nature could create.  I have always been amazed by the beauty, power, design and mystery that lies within in our natural world.  Using this lens allows us to learn about form and design.
