2D Art

2D Art and Design:

This course explores two-dimensional art processes including drawing, painting, printmaking, and collage.  Students will build upon common vocabulary and foundation skills and refine ideas with student input to personalize projects.

Units include non-objective, abstract, and realistic.

Students will begin the year exploring and refining patterns. Students will use the element of line with blind contour drawing, contour drawing, and cross-contour drawing experimenting with different drawing and painting techniques to add creative individual expression while developing skills to draw realistic subjects.

Students will also be building strategies for mark-making and using paint, ink, and drawing media in creative techniques.
