Course Description:

The North Haven Middle School Art curricula are based on the National Core Arts Standards. The National Core Arts Standards include the categories of Creating, Presenting, Responding, and Connecting.

6th grade Art will focus on units of Folk Art, Clay sea plate, Asian landscapes, and a Sketchbook component drawing inspiration from mostly contemporary artwork.

Students will begin the year with sketchbooks and radial painted designs. Students will learn about Folk art and will practice and refine the technique of "yarn painting"
