The Library of Congress is the world’s largest library. Thanks to its huge digital collection, you don’t need to head towards any one of its 21 reading rooms to read kids books for free.

Find books written in a variety of languages for learners from kindergarten to age 13.
 
Younger students can listen and watch stories read to them by members of the Screen Actors Guild. You may have to use Youtube, which could be a problem with the school filters.
 
You must have the Kindle app, which you can download for free, to be able to read these books, but otherwise they are free for your student.
 
From Scholastic, this site can be accessed if you have a library card with the North Haven Memorial Library. This site is geared towards younger readers and pairs fiction with nonfiction books. 
 
This website offers readers classic texts. The content is free because the copyrights for the works have expired.
