6th grade art

6th grade Course Description:

The North Haven Middle School Art curricula are based on the National Core Arts Standards.  The National Core Arts Standards include the categories of Creating, Presenting, Responding, and Connecting.  

6th grade Art will focus on units of Folk Art, Clay sea plate, Asian landscape, and a Sketchbook component drawing inspiration from mostly contemporary artwork. 

Currently, students are working on clay sea trays. The image below is in progress. It is bisque which is fired clay and the student will paint the sculpture next with colored clay glazes.
